IT HAPPENED JUST AFTER THREE THIS AFTERNOON ON FOURTH STREET NEAR IOWA AVENUE. POLICE SAY A MAN WAS FOUND SHOT THERE BUT IS EXPECTED TO SURVIVE. A man was taken to the hospital after being shot near Churchill Downs on Friday afternoon.Louisville Metro Police Department responded to calls of a shooting around 3:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of South Fourth Street, which is not far from Churchill Downs.Officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived on the scene. He was taken to UofL Hospital with injuries that are non-life threatening, according to police.LMPD's Fourth Division is handling the investigation.
