EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Some El Pasoans will be freezin for a reason, as they take part in a "polar plunge" event.
The sponsored event aims at raising awareness and money for the Special Olympics of Texas.
El Paso will join other Texas cities as they brave the cold and take the plunge across the state.
The event will take place on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration is open for individuals as well as teams.
Fees start at $30 for children and $60 for adults.
All money raised for Polar Plunge will go toward providing year-round sports training and competition, health, and inclusion programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities in the El Paso community.
