‘Euphoria’ actress, central Pa. native charged with retail theft close to home

“Euphoria” actress and Lancaster County native Chloe Cherry, whose legal name is Elise Jones, was charged with retail theft last week, according to reports.

Online court dockets show the misdemeanor charge stems from a Dec. 26 incident that Lancaster police responded to.

Charging documents cited by LancasterOnline state that the 25-year-old actress stole a $28 blouse from Building Character, a downtown retailer that offers “vintage, recycled and handmade goods” according to the store’s website.

Surveillance footage shows Jones taking a blouse into a dressing room at one clothing vendor, then leaving without the blouse, but the blouse was no longer in the dressing room, LancasterOnline reported from the affidavit.

Jones did pay for other items using a credit card. She admitted to taking the blouse and later returned it to an officer, according to court documents.

LancasterOnline spoke with the owner of Building Character and the general manager, both of whom were unaware of Jones’ acting career until after the police were involved and talked to her family.

Court dockets show that Jones was sent a summons on the misdemeanor charge. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 1.

Jones plays Faye in the HBO drama “Euphoria” and has also worked in adult films.
