The time of a plea hearing in federal court for the accused Walmart shooter was changed, according to federal court documents filed Thursday.

The hearing for Patrick Crusius will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday in courtroom 812 on the eighth floor of the United States Courthouse located at 525 Magoffin Ave. in El Paso.

The time of the hearing was previously set for 10 a.m.

Crusius, 24, is accused of targeting Mexicans during the Aug. 3 massacre that killed 23 people and left dozens wounded. The Dallas-area native is charged with federal hate crimes and firearms violations, as well as capital murder in state court.

Crusius will plead guilty at the federal court hearing, according to a court document filed on Jan. 21.

The guilty plea notice was filed in court days after federal prosecutors said they would not seek the death penalty.

Crusius could still face the death penalty if convicted on a state capital murder charge.

His case is set for trial in federal court in Jan. 2024.
