Goshen Police were made aware of a stolen vehicle at the Meijer gas station parking lot on Elkhart Road, near Ox Bow Park, just after 11 a.m. on Friday, February 3.

Police arrived on scene and made attempts to stop a Kia stolen from Berrien Springs, Michigan.

The Kia fled towards the City of Elkhart, while police followed in pursuit.

Just before 11:30 a.m., the Kia was involved in an accident with another vehicle then hit a tree at the intersection of Hively Ave and Prairie Street.

The male driver was trapped inside the Kia and was extracted from the vehicle.

Police say the driver was transported to a local hospital with severe, unknown injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
