The Animal Foundation has taken in a new pup, who was found suffering from multiple wounds at a local park.

The shelter says Toby was found on a softball field at Sunset Park and was rushed to their facility after he was seen suffering from deep wounds on his face and body.

A veterinary team later determined that the dog may have been hit by a car after finding road debris in his wounds.

According to The Animal Foundation, Toby's largest wound is on the right side of his body, which is too big and infected to be healed on its own. The pup receives daily sedated bandage changes, pain medication, and antibiotics to help the wound heal.

Other smaller wounds are said to be slowly healing on their own.

Despite the circumstances, the shelter says Toby was quick to trust the staff and is loving, sweet, and eager to please those around him.

Funds from donors and supporters who helped care for Penny, a dog who recently recovered after suffering severe mange, will help Toby as he begins his recovery journey.

The Animal Foundation encourages those who wish to help with Toby's recovery to donate to their CARE Fund, a fund for animals in desperate need of medical care.
