On Wednesday, February 1st, at approximately 12:50 p.m., the boy stated he was crossing the street outside of Joseph H. Brensinger Elementary School, also known as Public School No. 17, at approximately 600 Bergen Ave.

At this time, he noticed a vehicle beeping at him and what seemed to be the driver making signs for him to pass. Once he proceeded to pass, he was “struck on his right bottom extremities,” the crash report says.

The driver, a 62-year-old city resident, said she she was traveling south on Bergen Avenue when the pedestrian jumped in front of her vehicle and caused the accident, which caused “webbing” of the the front windshield.

The 13-year-old was then transported to the Jersey City Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and the driver was not charged since she remained on the scene.
