Tree Partially Crushes Wayland Home Amid Arctic Airmass Event

Wind gusts were blowing near 40 mph in the area during Friday's cold weather event.

WAYLAND, MA — A tree fell and partially crushed a home in Wayland Friday during a cold weather and wind event.

The tree fell on one part of the Orchard Lane home in a neighborhood off Route 126. The Wayland Fire Department said no one was injured in the crash. The main damage was to the home's roof, the department said.

Winds were gusting near 40 mph Friday afternoon the Wayland area amid a weather event has brought extreme cold air and strong winds to the region. Wind gusts will continue to be in the 30 to 40 mph range until early Saturday morning, according to forecasts. Along with the winds, outdoor temperatures will feel as low as -30 in the area during the overnight hours.
