Ferrari Falls Down Elevator Shaft: Palm Beach County Fire Rescue

A Ferrari Roma fell down a malfunctioning car elevator shaft at a high-end dealership, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL — First responders were called in to rescue a Ferrari Roma that fell down a car elevator shaft Tuesday at a high-end dealership in Palm Beach County.

The elevator malfunctioned, causing the car to fall down and hang in the shaft, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue shared on its Facebook page. There were no injuries in the incident.

Crews were on the scene for about four hours, first mitigating a fuel leak. This involved setting up portable standpipes and cutting the power to the business, the agency said.

Once the leak was mitigated, a Special Operations crew, working with Kauff’s Towing, used a rotator wrecker to remove the car from the elevator.

“Kauff’s 45-foot boom and multiple 50,000-pound winches were the right tool for the job,” PBCFR said.
