Brett Favre's 2009 NFC Championship Game jersey is up for auction

Do you remember the name Steve Bartman?

He was the unfortunate person who caught the foul ball in the 2003 NLCS that kept the Curse of the Billy Goat alive. They ridiculed him for nearly 13 years before the organization truly apologized to him and that singular baseball ended up being blown up in a public ceremony.

Could the same thing end up being done to the jersey that Brett Facre wore during the infamous Bountygate game? It’s possible as the jersey is up for auction.

The auction is set to take place on February 25-26 at Heritage Auctions’ Winter Platinum Night Auction and it could fetch upwards of $30,000.

According to the Green Bay Post Gazette, “The jersey being auctioned is from the second half and overtime. While both are considered jerseys from his final playoff game, the second likely is more desirable.”

If you want to get rid of any bad juju or vibes, doing the same to this jersey as happened with the Steve Bartman ball would be wise.
