Fight At New Hyde Park Gym; Man Hurts 2 Cops Resisting Arrest: Police

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A fight Thursday afternoon at an LA Fitness on Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park led officers to arrest Bryan Daney, 20, of Queens, police said.

However, Daney refused to comply with officers, as he became violent and combative while resisting arrest, authorities said.

The victim of the altercation with Daney, who was punched in the face, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Two officers were also transported to an area hospital.

Daney is expected to be arraigned on Friday on two counts of second-degree assault, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
