COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Food prices are soaring because of inflation and other factors, so Meijer is cutting prices for SNAP recipients.
Meijer announced it is offering 10% off fresh produce bought in its stores through March 31.
This is the second time the retailer has offered discounts on produce for customers who use SNAP benefits. In October, the company offered the discount thanks to a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
According to its website, SNAP, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, provides benefits to supplement the food budgets of needy families so they can buy healthy food.
