Back on November 4th of 2022 Patrick Morgan pleaded guilty to 2 counts of unlawful surveillance in an Albany County Court.

Back in February, Colonie Police say Sand Creek Middle School notified investigators after a camera, disguised as a cell phone charger, was found in a co-ed employee bathroom.

Investigators say the camera contained videos and images of multiple faculty members in various stages of undress. The images and videos were of both male and female faculty members, say investigators.

Police say there is no evidence students were recorded.

"As an employee of Sand Creek Middle School, Patrick Morgan enjoyed a high level of trust among his peers. His actions, which violated the privacy of 28 people, are an egregious betrayal of that trust. In the Special Victims Unit, we take exploitation very seriously and hope that today’s resolution provides his victims with some peace of mind and closure.” said Assistant District Attorney Ariel Fallon

Investigators say Morgan had worked at the school for 27 years and was a 5th grade teacher at the school at the time of his arrest.

He was sentenced to 2 to 6 years in prison, there are 28 orders of protection filed against him and he will be required to register as a sex offender.
