Rochester, N.Y. — Police announced Thursday they have arrested a second suspect for a shooting nearly two months ago on the city's southeast side.
Officers responded to Monroe Avenue near Amherst Street around 12:45 a.m. Dec. 3 and found a 27-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Police said the victim survived life-altering injuries.

Police arrested the suspected shooter, Dale McCarthy, 28, Dec. 19.
A U.S. Marshals task force arrested the second suspect, Chicko Dillard, 42, Jan. 31. Police credited "significant community assistance" in helping identify Dillard as a suspect.
An indictment unsealed Wednesday charged both suspects with attempted murder and assault.
Police said McCarthy was released from prison on parole in November, following a 2018 robbery conviction. Dillard had been released last February following a 2005 attempted murder conviction.
Both suspects are being held in Monroe County Jail.
