HWY 1 closure planned for Feb. 7 to continue rock scaling operation in Lompoc

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif.– Hwy 1 south and north 12th Street at the junction of SR 246 and Hwy 1 in Lompoc will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 7 to continue rock scaling operations in the area, according to CalTrans.

Drivers will not be able to access the roadway south on Hwy 1 but can plan on taking a detour east on SR 246 in Buellton to reach US 101 south. Meanwhile, those headed north can expect partial closures near Santa Rosa Road and 20-minute delays.

The operation to dislodge, remove debris and rock, and clean up the roadway from the work took place once before on Jan. 26. and will take place again Feb. 7.

Community members should place accordingly and expect extra delays due to the closure.
