Two people narrowly escaped a burning house in Sparks on Thursday morning.

Crews responded to reports of a fire with someone possibly trapped off the 500 block of Abbay Way just before 10:30 a.m. on February 2.

When crews arrived on scene, they found moderate smoke coming from the front of the house and two adults who'd escaped the fire on their own. Authorities said emergency responders provided 'advance life support' on a victim suffering from serious burns and smoke inhalation.

Both the Reno Fire Department and Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue assisted the Sparks Police Department in knocking down the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
