The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is investigating an overnight homicide. Just after 11 p.m., officers were called to an area hospital regarding a shooting victim who had been privately driven to the hospital. The victim was rushed into the hospital for treatment but was declared dead shortly after their arrival. Officers received information the shooting occurred near East 71st Street and Askew Ave.Police began canvassing the area and ultimately located an apparent crime scene off Askew.Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene. They have processed the scene for evidence and are canvassing for any potential witnesses.There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
