A dog named Bandit involved in an attack last week at the Grand Sierra Resort was impounded for quarantine Wednesday afternoon thanks to help from the community, Washoe County Regional Animal Services reported.

Heather Brashear and Bandit are seen on video at the Grand Sierra Resort.

Authorities are still seeking Heather Brashear, who was captured on video with the dog at the GSR, so she can provide a statement about what happened. They also are seeking the dog’s legal owner.

“The dog was reported to have caused serious injury to a male victim inside of the Grand Sierra Resort,” said WCRAS program coordinator Quinn Sweet in an email to the RGJ.

“The attack resulted in serious, non-life-threatening injuries requiring hospitalization. The information we are seeking from Heather Brashear and the Bandit’s owner will help us complete our investigation.”

Citing the ongoing investigation, no further details were provided.

Tips on Brashear or Bandit’s owner may be reported anonymously to Washoe County Regional Animal Services dispatch office by calling (775) 322-3647 or by emailing pets@washoecounty.gov.
