DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WPMI) — An autopsy performed on a cat found dead on Dauphin Island last month confirms the cat was shot.
It is at least the third cat killed that way, and island police are determined to get to the bottom of it.
A hefty reward is still being offered by the Dauphin Island Cat Association.
They want to know who is targeting a colony of cats located next to the St. Edmund-By-The-Sea catholic church- cats the association has been trapping, spaying, and neutering.
The latest autopsy, done at Louisiana State University, recovered a bullet from the cat's head. It's a bullet now being compared to those found in two other cats.
Doing this is a felony, and police say they want to find the shooter before more animals or even people are hurt.
