Raleigh PD: Animal control find nearly two dozen cats and dogs, owner cited for animal cruelty

The animals were found in varrying states of conditions.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh Animal Control units found nearly two dozen dogs and cats at a Raleigh home cited the owner for animal cruelty Monday.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, Animal Control units responded to a home on Tweeds Mill Road in regard to an animal cruelty complaint.

When Animal Control units arrived, the officer found 22 cats and dogs in various states of condition.

According to Raleigh PD, the were surrendered to the Animal Control officers and the owner was cited for animal cruelty.

According to the Wake County Animal Services Director, the animals were brought to the Animal Center and many were already micro-chipped and altered.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
