Superintendent of Schools Martin O’Shea said in an email to parents that the threat was written on a bathroom wall and discovered Thursday afternoon. Though he didn't believe it was credible, O'Shea asked for a thorough police investigation before allowing students in the building.

“Despite purposeful and tireless efforts by the Longmeadow Police Department and school administration, the investigation into this matter is not complete,” O’Shea wrote, per MassLive. “To be clear, while we have no reason to believe that a genuine threat exists, we do not yet have the confidence to confirm that the school violence threat made at Glenbrook is a criminal hoax.”

Police are still trying to determine who wrote the threat.

Other schools in the area remained open, but police increased their patrols and presence, the report said.
