CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Fourteen COVID-19-related deaths were reported in West Virginia on Thursday.
The new deaths pushed the state’s total to 7,822 during the pandemic, according to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. The deaths were:
The active case total in West Virginia sat at 805 with the addition of 325 new positive cases for the day.
Hospitalizations from the virus dropped by 14 to 243, including 39 people in intensive care (up three) and 16 people on ventilators.
Meanwhile, the cumulative positive test rate was at 8.62% while the daily positive test rate was 7.48%.
There were 41 green counties on the DHHR’s daily alert map, followed by 14 in yellow: Mingo, Wyoming, Mercer, Summers, Monroe, Wirt, Ritchie, Pleasants, Barbour, Taylor, Pendleton, Grant, Hardy and Morgan.
