Abilene firefighters responded early Tuesday evening to a fire call at a two-story apartment complex in the 2000 block of South Clack Street.

Personnel responding at about 7:30 p.m. saw smoke from the front door of a first-floor unit. Fire was found in the kitchen and contained there, according to an Abilene Fire Department release.

The occupant who made the 911 call was there and uninjured.

During the fire, a water line ruptured and caused damage to three adjacent apartments.

The cause of the fire was a stove burner igniting nearby items.

Damage estimate is $10,000, according to the AFD.
