Good news keeps coming for Shreveport UrgentEMS and its owner Dr. Tiffany Najberg. Since changing her first name in 2021, Najberg has been fighting with insurance companies Humana, Cigna and CVS-owned Aetna for payment reimbursements.

Najberg and her clinic have lost almost $200,000 in insurance payments due to the companies refusing to change the name in their databases to reflect Najberg's new identity despite her going through the proper legal channels.

Since then, Najberg has created an online petition on Change.org to bring attention to the situation and its now amassed over 10,000 signatures at the time of this publication. In addition to her TikTok videos talking about what's happening, Najberg has interviewed with NBC and the organization Upworthy and she's hoping that will help her gain more traction.

According to Najberg, Aetna is currently processing all of the back claims while Cigna and Humana have come to the table to negotiate with her. Humana has also began paying more recent claims which gives Najberg hope they are headed in the right direction.
