The Myrtle Beach Fire Department just launched a new Junior Firefighting Academy.

That's in addition to their numerous Community Outreach Programs, including the Citizens Fire Academy, Smoke Alarm Program and a new CPR Program.

Cpt. Jonathan Evans is thrilled they're now able to offer so many programs and he's asking for donations from the community to help keep them going.

We've developed many, many great programs from the Junior Academy, which we just recently started, and the Citizen's Academy. We have props like our sprinklers demonstration trailer. We're trying to start our CPR program and get that off the ground. So, all these different things, and with that we can use some community support," Evans said.

Myrtle Beach Fire accepts monetary donations as well as furniture, drywall and flooring donations for their sprinkler demonstrations.

If you'd like to donate, contact Cpt. Jonathan Evans at jwevans@cityofmyrtlebeach.com or 843-918-1221.
