Woonsocket man dies after he was hit by 2 cars

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WJAR) — A 49-year-old Woonsocket man died after he was hit by two cars on Sunday night.

Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates said Philip Gross was struck about 8 p.m. while he was cutting across Cass Avenue near Wood Avenue.

The man was not in a crosswalk.

Police said Gross was rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Oates said neither driver showed signs of impairment and that they are not facing charges at this time.

Police said it's still under investigation.
