Phoenix man sentenced to 10 years for child exploitation offenses
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A United States District Judge sentenced Henry Salome Ramos to ten years in prison for child exploitation offenses.
From a press release, Ramos, a 38-year-old Phoenix man, previously pleaded guilty to Distribution and Possession of Child Pornography.
Upon release, the court will then have Ramos on lifetime supervised release with sex offender conditions.
Not only that, as a requirement, Ramos will register as a sex offender.
About the case
The case against Ramos began in March 2020, after United States Border Patrol (USBP) encountered a man smuggling undocumented immigrants.
USBP agents then searched the smuggler's phone, which revealed child exploitation content exchanges with Ramos.
Furthermore, the investigation revealed that the smuggler offered Ramos methamphetamines in exchange for sex with a minor.
However, this exchange did not happen.
