Downtown Lubbock saw a brewery close its doors for the final time Tuesday, months after celebrating its first anniversary.

Auld Brewing Co. at 515 Broadway, opened on Aug. 27, 2021. Through the past several months, Auld "worked tirelessly to stay afloat," according to a company statement by Ray and Andrea Auld on social media.

"We sacrificed our family, our health and our peace, never producing the winning outcome we had hoped," the post stated. "We are grateful for the opportunity we had here in Lubbock and could not have asked for more kindness from our visitors. There is no doubt, we survived this long because of you. The continued support and loyalty of all of you will be cherished and you will forever be remembered as friends!"

While the Lubbock location has closed its doors, parts of the brewery will appear in the Borger brewery. The system will move to Borger, and the support planks will be "hung with respect to all those who came and drank with us. It is only fitting they be shown the same love in Borger."

People who want their support plank returned can stop by the Broadway building through the week and ask for Ray.

Though closed, Auld's drinks can still be found on tap at other bars in Lubbock.

"Despite our departure, please know you will always be a big part of Auld Brewing Company and the love will never be forgotten!" the post stated. "Thank you, Lubbock!"
