The Chatham County Police Dept. are continuing their searching for a missing 20-month-old toddler.

As of Thursday, police - with the assistance of the FBI - executed search warrants and continued to interview people who might have important information. The case remains a missing child investigation.

We're going to hold out hope that he's still alive, and that we can find him and bring him home safe to his parents," Chief Hadley said. "But, we'll continue to look at all angles and exhaust all investigate avenues.

At 11 a.m., Thursday, police Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley provided updates on their search efforts thus far, and how to plan to move forward.

You can watch that full press conference below.

According to police, Quinton Simon was last seen at his home in the 500 block of Buckhalter Road at 6 a.m., Wednesday morning. He was reported missing at around 9 a.m.

Hadley said that this is still considered a missing child case, until they have more information or evidence that would suggest otherwise. There is no evidence that would confirm that foul play was involved, but Hadley said that every possible scenario is "still on the table." He also said that there is still a possibility of this being a child abduction.

The police department, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other assisting teams, were searching until 2 A.M. on Thursday morning, and they are continuing those searches today; they have narrowed the search down to smaller geographic areas where they believe Quinton could have wandered.

They will be conducting interviews on Thursday, as well as downloading phone content. Hadley said they will "exhaust all investigative avenues" in the hopes of finding Quinton and bringing him home.

Officials said he was wearing a light blue Sesame Street shirt and black pants. Police are encouraging anyone with information to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 912-234-2020.

Police are continuing to actively search the area for Quinton. They said they are on foot, using a drone and working with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit.

Neighbors joined the search party and expressed their concern for Quinton's safety, saying that this is a parent's worst nightmare.

"I hope they find the child safe. That’s the biggest thing. That’s all I’ve really thought about since about 10:00 a.m. this morning, is that...I really hope they find him. He’s a young child," said next-door neighbor Tyler Edenfield.

Officers said an Amber Alert hasn't been issued because they haven't been able to determine why Quinton is missing.

According to CCPD, an abduction has to take place for an Amber Alert to be issued.
