BROWN COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) crews plan to close a section of State Road 135 next week to remove and replace a quadruple drainage pipe south of State Road 46 in Brown County. It was originally scheduled for August.
On or after Tuesday, October 11, S.R. 135 will close just south of S.R. 46 (near Beech Drive) to allow crews to remove an existing structure from under the roadway and replace it. The area will then be backfilled with concrete, which will require an additional cure time, through Thursday, October 13.
Once curing and repaving are complete, the road will reopen to traffic. The surface will remain rough until patching can occur later in the week. All work is expected to be completed by Saturday, October 15.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active work zones. Through traffic should seek an alternate route while the road is closed.
