Halloween is a favorite holiday for many and why shouldn’t it be? You get to dress up as anything you want and get free candy! The best part of Halloween just might be trick-or-treating, and these days, you don’t have to be a kid to get in on the fun. And you don’t have to wait for October 31, either. Check out where to trick-or-treat in Olympia and throughout Thurston County below.

Love Local Lacey Spooky in the Park

October 23: 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Love Local Lacey has a fun event planned on October 23! Spooky in the Park has many fun activities including live pumpkin carving, costume contests and is even pet friendly! But, if you just want to come for the treats…they are having a trunk-or-treat as well! It’s all free and you can get more information on the Love Local Events WA Facebook page.

Moore Design’s Trunk or Treat
201 Prairie Park Street SE, Yelm
October 29: 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Moore Designs is having their first Trunk-or-Treat on October 29 at Yelm Cinemas! They have room for over 100 cars, so spiff yours up, stock up on candy and join the fun! They will have awards for Best in Show, Best Costume, Best Theme and Kids Choice! Dash Plaques will be given to all participants with a vehicle. For even more fun, they are going to have giveaways including an autographed photo from Christopher LLoyd (Uncle Fester/ “Addams Family”) and an autographed photo from Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson/”Stranger Things”). Big Brothers Big Sisters Trick-or-Read Drive Thru
2424 Heritage Court SW, Olympia
October 29: 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington is once again partnering with South Sound Reading Foundation for their third annual Trick-or-Read Drive-Thru! At this free event your children will get plenty of treats, including a book, candy and other goodies! Costumes are encouraged and there will be a fun photo-op for that spooky selfie! Olympia High School Trunk-or-Treat

Halloween Hoopla
South Sound Dance
5739 Littlerock Road SW, Suite 107, Tumwater
October 29: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

South Sound Dance is having a trunk-or-treat event on October 29. They will have carnival games, costumes, dancing, and an epic pie in the face competition between their three teachers Miss Bit, Miss Kindred and Miss Pamela. For more information, head to the South Sound Dance Facebook event.

Griffin Neighbors Trunk or Treat

October 30: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

The Griffin Neighborhood Association is putting on a Trunk-or-Treat of neighbors and friends of the Griffin neighborhood in Olympia. Details are still being formed, so check out the Griffin Neighbors Facebook page for more information.

Olympia Trick-or-Treat Treasure Hunt
Downtown Olympia
October 30: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

This fun event in downtown Olympia will have you going on a treasure hunt through participating businesses looking for a unicorn or narwhal figurine at each location! Once a trick or treater finds it, they will be issued an entry form for the treasure-chest drawings to be held at 5:30 p.m. at Archibald Sisters, 406 Capitol Way S., Olympia. Capital Mall

October 31: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The nice thing about trick-or-treating at the mall is, the weather doesn’t matter! Head to Capital Mall on Halloween night for a fun night out at a whole family. Kids under 12 can trick-or-treat. For more information, visit the Capital Mall website.

Masonic Trunk-or-Treat
455 North Street SE, Tumwater
October 31: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Tumwater’s Masonic group is once again having their Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween night. In addition to plenty of trunks to treat at, this year they are also going to have a couple vendors selling mini cookies and lumpias. They are still looking for people who want to decorate a trunk and hand out candy! For more information, follow their event on Facebook.

Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Trunk-or-Treat

October 31: 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Emmanuel Bible Fellowship is once again holding their trunk-or-treat on Halloween night. There will be free hot dogs, kids’ games and of course lots of candy! They work towards having a fun and safe environment and everyone is welcome. They have security and traffic control. The event is free.
