Increase In Female Truckers

A growing number of women are getting behind the wheel and becoming truckers. John Esparza, who heads the Texas Trucking Association, says they love it, and women are generally safer drivers. Female truckers still amount to less than ten percent of the workforce, but Esparza says the numbers are growing. And it comes at a time when the industry is desperate to get freight moving before the holidays.
