SURVEILLANCE VIDEO FROM LAST NIGHT SHOWS A WOMAN WALK ON TO THE PATIO AND POSE FOR A PHOTO IN FRONT OF THE GIANT SKELETON OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT, WUSONG ROAD ON MOUNT AUBURN STREET. BUT THEN, SHE RIPS THE ARM OFF THE DECORATION BEFORE RUNNING OFF. IT’S FRUSTRATING FOR THIS OWNER, BECAUSE THEY’VE HAD TO DEAL WITH OTHER VANDALISM IN THE NINE MONTHS THEY’VE BEEN OPEN. AND HE SAYS THE COSTS ADD UP QUICKLY. >> AS A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER, RIGHT NOW, IT IS FRUSTRATING BECAUSE A PIPER IN FRONT COSTS ARE HIGH FOR THINGS LIKE THIS. YOU HOPE THEY ARE ONE-TIME EXPENSES. A restaurant owner in Massachusetts is asking for help in getting back a piece of a large Halloween decoration that was stolen.Surveillance video from Wusong Road, a tiki bar and restaurant in Cambridge, shows a woman pose for a photo in front of the giant skeleton decoration that is on the patio.The woman is then seen ripping the arm off the decoration before taking off with it Tuesday night.Jason Doo, owner of Wusong Road, said this incident is frustrating because he has had to deal with other acts of vandalism in the nine months the restaurant has been open."The up-front costs have been high for things like this and you hope that they're one-time expenses. Your accountant doesn't want to see '12-foot skeleton' multiple times on a line item," Doo said. "So we're hoping that an expense like this would last multiple years."Doo said he is offering a $100 gift card to Wusong Road as a reward for the return of the skeleton's arm. He is also hoping to send a message that restaurants are still bouncing back from the COVID-19 pandemic, and that acts of vandalism and theft only make that pandemic recovery more difficult.
