Illinois Man Shot To Death While Attending Family Party: Coroner

The 25-year-old was fatally shot, while two other men were injured and several vehicles were struck by gunfire, according to reports.

CHAMPAIGN, IL — A central Illinois man was shot and killed Tuesday evening while attending a family party, according to authorities.

Rashaud S. Weatherall, 25, of Danville, was struck by gunfire during the party in the 1100 block of North Third Street in Champaign, according to the Champaign County Coroner’s Office, which reported Weatherall was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m. at a local hospital. An autopsy will be conducted Thursday, the coroner’s office said.

Two other men were injured and three vehicles and a building were shot when a vehicle approached the area and people inside opened fire before fleeing, WCCU reported.

Anyone with surveillance of the scene or other information is asked to call 217-351-4545 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 217-373-8477, at 373tips.com or through the P3 Tips mobile app, according to WCCU. People whose tips result in a homicide arrest may receive a $5,000 reward, WCCU reported.
