The New Yorkers for constitutional freedoms organization, along with 25 churches, have filed a federal lawsuit claiming gov. Kathy Hochul’s concealed carry improvement act, which was passed in July of this year, is unconstitutional.

The group expressed concerns about their ability to protect themselves in places of worship-- citing that Governor Hochul's law impedes on their constitutionally protected right.

Reverend Jason Maguire, the Executive Director of New Yorkers for constitutional freedoms had a lot to say regarding how the concealed carry improvement act negatively impacted church security.

Maguire said "The right to bear arms is, quite simply, a right. It is not a privilege that can be granted or removed by Gov. Hochul or by the New York state legislature."
