A Milwaukee toddler remains hospitalized with serious injuries as police search for the person who shot him.
The shooting happened at a playground at 21st Street and Keefe Avenue at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Milwaukee police said the gunfire erupted from a nearby car, hitting a 20-year-old man, a 74-year-old woman and her 2-year-old grandson.
"It kind of broke my heart because that's the park that my kids play at on a regular basis on the weekend," nearby neighbor Loletha Crawford said Wednesday. "They could never go back to that park."
Police and witnesses told WISN 12 News the toddler was severely injured.
Police said they do not have anyone in custody. It's a fact concerning neighbors.
"Now kids can't even go have fun on the playgrounds no more without these fools doing what they doing," lifelong 22nd Street and Keefe Avenue resident Donald Terry said.
