MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say they've arrested a woman accused of striking an officer with a vehicle Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Authorities say the vehicle was recovered unoccupied and the suspect, a 30-year-old woman, was arrested.

A Milwaukee police detective fired his weapon at the vehicle she was allegedly driving after police say she intentionally hit an officer with her car while he chased another suspect on foot during a drug investigation.

Officials say the woman was not injured in the incident.

Police say the officer who was struck, a 29-year-old man with 10 years of service, is recovering at home.

The detective who fired his gun has been placed on administrative duty.

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the upcoming days.
