Two pets die in apartment fire in southeastern Sioux Falls
Nicole KiA dog and a cat have died in a fire Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in southeast Sioux Falls.
The structure fire occurred in the 3000 block of East Bragstad Drive. Sioux Falls Rescue responded at 10:14 a.m. and found smoke and fire in one unit of the apartment complex once they arrived.
No other injuries or deaths were reported, according to a press release from the fire department.

Sioux Falls Rescue responded with a total of seven fire trucks, one command vehicle, 24 firefighters and one investigator.
They were able to extinguish the main fire quickly and confirmed there were several animals in the house, including one dog and one cat who died in the fire, and one dog who was taken by animal control.
The fire is currently being investigated.
