Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to return to Nevada this weekend, marking his second visit this election cycle, to stump for gubernatorial candidate Joe Lombardo and U.S. Senate hopeful Adam Laxalt.

The rally will be held Saturday evening about an hour south of Reno at the Minden-Tahoe Airport, just weeks before early voting is set to begin in Nevada, a perennial presidential battleground that could play a crucial role in the 2024 election.

Election 2022:Gov. Sisolak, Las Vegas sheriff Lombardo face off in Nevada governor's debate

Trump had visited Las Vegas in July to boost the campaigns of Lombardo, Clark County's sheriff since 2015, and Laxalt, a former one-term attorney general who co-chaired Trump's 2020 re-election campaign in Nevada.

At that rally, however, Trump also teased a potential 2024 bid, which was met with applause and cheers from those in attendance.

Both Lombardo and Laxalt, who received Trump's endorsement amid a competitive primary election in June, are locked in tight races this November with their respective Democratic foes.

Lombardo, in his first-ever statewide campaign, is aiming to defeat Gov. Steve Sisolak, while Laxalt is looking to flip Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto's blue seat and tip the balance of power in the Senate back to the Republican Party.

Nevada's general election is Nov. 8, with early voting from Oct. 22 to Nov. 4.
