Fire chief hopes meetings will address cuts, reduction in service

The Milwaukee Fire Department will be holding community meetings at every fire station over the next two weeks, starting Wednesday, Oct. 5.Click here to see all the dates, times and locationsFire Chief Aaron Lipski hopes the meetings will address cuts that he said have resulted in increased response times, decreased service to the public and have placed firefighters, paramedics and residents in danger. Lipski said in a news release that the department wants to educate the public and elected officials about the strain local firefighting and emergency medical services have been under and will continue to be under. Lipski is asking the community for support to help keep fire stations open."We will review the fire engine, ladder truck, paramedic unit, and/or chief officer workload occurring from each station and citywide with a historic and local perspective on activity growth and take questions from community members in attendance," the news says.
