Guttenberg Brewing Company holds Ian fundraiser for Fort Myers' breweries

Guttenberg — Wednesday afternoon, Guttenberg Brewing Company announced they will be holding a fundraiser to help Fort Meyers' Lazy Coconut Brewery and Tuck Away Café.

Lazy Coconut Brewery opened this summer in the rear of Tuck Away's building.

The owners lost both their business and home.

Only operating for just a few months, Hurricane Ian destroyed the new business.

Brewing equipment, supplies, furniture, and all products were lost during the storm.

I have been in business less than five months, and Coconut Brewery just opened their doors on a few months ago so I felt compelled to help.", said Kathryn Lee Klaes, Guttenberg Brewing Company Owner in Wednesday's Media Statement. "I know how much of your heart goes into getting a business open and a few extra hours of my time is the least I can give to help out a fellow brewery! I have always loved the sense of comradery within the brewing community, I have been fortunate to have great mentors and community support from the industry as I was getting my business started and I wanted to do something to give back.

Guttenberg Brewing Company's fundraising will kick off starting Saturday, October 8th and run through Sunday, October 9th.

Attendees may drop off Chili and or bake sale items.

Free will offerings will be accepted for all items.

Chili, toppings, and a Chili Dipper will be collected between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on both days.

Bake Sale items will be collected from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, and will be for sale as the items are brought to the Brewery.

The Brewery will also host a Chili Cookoff on Sunday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m..

Participants can sample as many Chilis as they wish, with a free will offering.

Voting will be one ballot per person.

All donations will go directly to Lazy Coconut Brewery and Tuck Away Café in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida.

Guttenberg Brewing Company will match all donations, up to $500.
