A former Columbus City Schools teacher who has been indicted on multiple counts after admitting to years of taking up-skirt videos of minors is no longer employed by the district, CCS announced Wednesday.

The Columbus Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to initiate termination proceedings against Columbus Alternative High School teacher Justin Foley.

The district said Foley submitted his resignation, which was accepted by the board on Wednesday. Per his resignation letter, his resignation is effective Monday, Oct. 3.

"At this time, Mr. Foley is no longer an employee of the district," Columbus City Schools said in a statement. "This brings his tenure with the district to a close and ensures that he will not return to any Columbus City Schools classroom."

Foley was arrested by Delaware police on Sept.20, after he was accused of videotaping students and trading sexual pictures and videos of minors.

According to court documents, he admitted to downloading and transferring the images and to actively producing voyeur videos throughout the community in public places and while teaching at Columbus Alternative Schools.

A Delaware County grand jury indicted Foley on ten counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity–oriented material or performance.

Foley was immediately suspended without pay by the district.

"Educator misconduct of any kind will not be tolerated in Columbus City Schools," the district said in a statement. "Foley’s actions constitute conduct unbecoming under the Ohio Department of Education Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators and the Columbus City Schools Certificated Staff Code of Conduct. Columbus City Schools has submitted an Educator Misconduct report with the Ohio Department of Education and will provide ongoing support to ODE in their efforts to address Mr. Foley’s licensure status and potential disciplinary action."

The district said it will continue to work with law enforcement as needed.

Columbus City Schools is encouraging anyone with information that could help police with their investigation to contact the Delaware Police Department via email or by calling the district's 24-hour anonymous Safer Together Hotline at 844-SAFER-OH.
