Chee-Yun has made her mark in the ever-changing classical music world for the past 30 years. She performed for former President Bill Clinton and guests at the White House in 1993, honoring the National Medal of the Arts recipients. She also performed for the Secretary General of the United Nations, celebrating National Foundation day in Korea and South Korea’s 25 anniversary of joining the United Nations.
Throughout Chee-Yun’s career, she has performed with many national symphony orchestras in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Dallas, and Toronto. She has also performed with the Los Angeles and Saint Paul chamber orchestras. On top of being a renowned violinist, Chee-Yun is also a passionate educator for students in music. She served as an adjunct professor of violin and starling soloist at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She was a visiting professor of violin music at the Indiana University School of Music. She also served as an Artist-in-Residence and professor of violin in Dallas, Texas, at Southern Methodist University.
Chee-Yun’s recent music recording, Serenata Notturno, went platinum in the first six months of its release. She also plays an antique violin made in 1669 by Franceso Ruggieri, rumored to have been buried with its previous owner for 200 years. Don’t miss Chee-Yun’s Captivating performance in Fire and Ice. After playing the icy, nordic tones of Sibelius Violin Concerto, they will also play from Rachmaninoff’s Symphony number 2.
