“I work to improve my teaching by constantly evaluating what works and what doesn’t. I’m not sure I have ever taught any module or lesson the same way twice; I am always making tweaks that will help my students better understand,” says Bowles.
Alexander Central Teacher Wins $50,000 Prize
Alexander Central High School’s Joshua Bowles has been named the winner of the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence. Bowles, a carpentry teacher, won a total of $50,000, including $15,000 for himself and $35,000 for his program. A total of $1.25 million is being awarded to 20 high school skilled trades teachers in 15 states.
