LARCHWOOD—A 36-year-old St. Paul, MN, man was arrested about 9:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, on a charge of second-degree theft at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort near Larchwood.

The arrest of Alex William Rosa stemmed from a report of a stolen vehicle at the casino, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities located the vehicle, a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica van owned by a Welcome, MN, resident, at the casino.

Rosa was observed getting out of the driver’s seat of the vehicle and arrested.

He claimed he had a backpack and audio equipment in the van.

Law enforcement spoke with vehicle’s owner, who denied ownership of jewelry, audio equipment, a Minnesota driver’s license, and credit/debit cards found in the van.

The law enforcement agency that entered the vehicle as being stolen reported it was investigating multiple home/vehicle thefts that evening. At least three of the credit/debit cards were from a burglary being investigating.

After being transported to the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids, Rosa provided text messages with an additional suspect who stated he was the one who took the van, according to the incident report.
