The 34-year-old victim told police that he lost his debit card at an unknown location on Sept. 4.

Investigators eventually discovered the card was used to make an online transaction.

The card was also used to make purchases at Jimmy's Liquors and City Smoke Convenience Inc., two businesses located on Hylan Boulevard in the Dongan Hills area.

A total of $425 in charges were made using the debit card, according to police.

It’s unclear how the woman obtained the lost card, police said.
