Restaurants in the Twin Cities are seeing high demand for THC beverages at their businesses. One owner says they’ve seen increases not only in sales for their drinks, but also with food since the sale of small amounts of THC products have been legalized in Minnesota. That has led to a new market of THC-infused beverages.

Peter Campbell is the owner of Red Wagon in South Minneapolis and spoke with Jason on Drivetime with DeRusha about it Tuesday on DeRusha Eats.

“And I tell you, THC beverages surpassed our wine sales last week alone and it didn't erode our wine or beer sales,” explains Campbell. “It’s all new.”

Campbell says more and more in-state brewing companies are coming to them with options, as are out-of-state companies trying to test their product on the market. Campbell says it's also led to increased pizza and dessert sales.

“It is such a great revenue stream and it bolsters what we do,” Campbell tells DeRusha. “People have a THC beverage and 90% of the people that order a THC drink at Red Wagon Pizza end up ordering dessert. Now, I don't know if that's the, what do they call munchies selection of the THC effect.”

It appears to be getting them to sit at the table a little longer according to Campbell.

Local craft breweries have been taking full advantage of the state's recent legalization of THC edibles by developing these THC-infused seltzers. Just a few of those include Indeed, Surly, Modist, Bauhaus, and Burning Brothers.
