GOOD MORNING-- I'M ERIN PICKENS. NEW OVERNIGHT-- RANKIN COUNTY DEPUTIES ARE INVESTIGATING A STABBING INVOLVING ROOMMATES. SHERIFF BRYAN BAILEY SAYS THEY GOT A CALL JUST BEFORE 3:00 A-M- FROM SOMEONE AT A HOME ON CENTRAL AVENUE IN THE FLORENCE-BYRAM ROAD AREA. WHEN DEPUTIES GOT THERE-- THEY FOUND A 55-YEAR-OLD WHO HAD BEEN STABBED IN HIS STOMACH AND HIS NECK. BAILEY SAYS THE VICTIM'S 37-YEAR-OLD ROOMMATE-- CHEYENNE SMITH-- WAS ARRESTED AND FACES AN AGGRAVATED ASSAULT CHARGE. SHE WAS TAKEN TO JAIL A

A man was hospitalized after a stabbing early Wednesday morning in Rankin County.Deputies were called a little before 3 a.m. to a home in the 200 block of Central Avenue, where they found a 55-year-old man who had been stabbed in the stomach and cut on his neck, Sheriff Bryan Bailey said.The man, whose name Bailey did not release, was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.The man's roommate, 37-year-old Cheyenne Smith, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.Bailey said the victim is expected to recover.

A man was hospitalized after a stabbing early Wednesday morning in Rankin County.
Deputies were called a little before 3 a.m. to a home in the 200 block of Central Avenue, where they found a 55-year-old man who had been stabbed in the stomach and cut on his neck, Sheriff Bryan Bailey said.
