4:45 P.M. THAT CRASH IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE LOUISVILLE METRO COUNCIL CONTINUES TO DELAY THE REAPPOINTMENT OF A TASK BOARD MEMBER FOLLOWING COMPLAINTS ABOUT SAFETY AND DELAYS. THE GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE TABLED THE REAPPOINTMENT OF VICE CHAIR CARLA DEARING AFTER CONCERNING REPORTS FROM BOTH RIDERS AND BUS DRIVERS LAST WEEK. TALK BOARD CHAIR JOHN LEWIS RESIGNED HIS POSITION TO TAKE A NEW JOB WITH DEARING. NOW, ASSUMING THAT ROLE OF BOARD CHAIR, THE COMMITTEE IS GIVING HER UNTIL JANUARY THREE BEFORE DECIDING ON HER REAPPOINTMENT. I WANT TO SEE COOPERATE AN ACROSS THE AISLE WITH WITH WITH THE UNION BECAUSE EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GET ON THE SAME PAGE TO WORK TO MAKE THINGS BETTER FOR EVERYONE. THE COMMITTEE WILL VOTE ON DEARING REAPPOINTMEN

Louisville Metro Council continues to delay reappointment of TARC board member
The Louisville Metro Council continues to delay the reappointment of a Transit Authority of River City board member.The stalling is due to complaints about safety and delays. The government oversight committee tabled the reappointment of Vice Chair Carla Dearing after concerning reports from both riders and bus drivers.Last week, TARC Board Chair John Launius resigned his position to take a new job.With Dearing now assuming the role of board chair, the committee is giving her until January before deciding on her reappointment."I want to see cooperation across the aisle with the union because everybody needs to get on the same page to work to make things better for everyone," said Louisville Metro Councilman Brent Ackerson. The committee will vote on Dearing's reappointment at their first committee meeting in the new year.
