NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was stabbed at the busy Times Square subway station on Tuesday night, police said as they searched for his attacker.

The stabbing happened around 10:50 p.m. at the mezzanine area for the 42nd Street Shuttle between Times Square and Grand Central Station.

The 31-year-old victim got into a dispute with another man. As the argument escalated, the second man stabbed the victim in the lower leg with an unknown weapon.

The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. He’s expected to recover.

The stabber was last seen on a 7 train headed for Grand Central.

An investigation was ongoing Wednesday as the search for the suspect continued.
